Hello There My Darlings,
As your big day approaches, you’re probably wondering whether you want first-look wedding photos or whether you want to wait until you walk down the aisle for your big reveal. I have had a bunch of my brides lately who have been wanting to see images of the difference between the "Traditional" First Look and the new trend "First Look". So, I thought why not make a post showing them just that and giving them a few examples to see the difference. I think both the traditional and non-Traditional first look has many pro's and con's depending on my clients and whether or not they feel good about their decision. Some say seeing your significant other until the actual wedding ceremony is a good-luck superstition. While others are opting for a first look for reasons that range from easing wedding day nerves to making their first look more intimate and personal.
Here are some things to consider when making that decision off the top of my head:
- The Look before the ceremony will give the Bride & Groom a moment before the day officially starts to connect with one another and take a deep breath.
- The Look before the ceremony will allows the Bride & Groom to take in this moment fully without the stress of everyone looking at them.
- The Look before the ceremony will allows time for more photos of just the Bride & Groom
- The Look before the ceremony will will give the Bride & Groom some Privacy before all the events start.
- It’s the most magical moment when the bride walks down the isle for the first time and having to share that moment with all the guests is a beautiful thing.
- The first look walking down the isle is Tradition and if that is your style....... Stick with it!!
- Doing the First Look before the ceremony, wont allow you to share that moment with your guests if you wanted to do that.
- Some grooms are very private with their emotions, can that can build up pressure which can disappoint a bride if she expects him to have a big reaction the first time he sees her.
- The Possibility of one of your guests standing up with their phone or tablet and standing in the photographers view can very much happen. ( I also suggest you have a no phone/ tablet wedding)
- Lighting at the ceremony could possibly NOT be ideal and there is nothing the photographer can do about that.
I have to say, making this decision can have its own special kind of moments. I have been brought to tears capturing both the traditional first look and the new trend First look and I love them both.... I have had brides excited for both!!!!
“Remember that you can always change your mind, YOUR WEDDING DAY IS ABOUT YOU"!
ENJOY!
